1972 Europa - Posted 11/24/13
I am trying to track down a Lagoon Blue (Oatmeal interior) Lotus Europa Twin Cam from 1972 which I believe had a number plate of OLK 346L or something similar as we cannot remember all of the plate! It was owned by my Grandad around 73/4 and had to sell it then due to his wife's pregnancy, we know that it was manual and did not have alloy wheels.
We bought one last year so it sparked off the search for it! Please see attached picture of current car (CKF 11K)
Thanks, Thomas Chidwick(U.K.)
1970 Europa S2
1970 Europa S2, purchased approximately September 1974, from Rallye Sports LTD in Fairfax, Virginia. Car price was $2,995, car was painted blue and I think that was the original color. Car had about 45,000 to 55,000 miles when purchased used. Serial Number was 65-2395. I owned this car for about two years and had the carb rebuilt, auxiliary radiator fan installed, accelerator pedal and cable replaced, and other minor maintenance items taken care of. I sold the car because it was flooded and after that was stored in a basement where clutch, brakes, etc., developed rust. Car sold to a man in Boston, Massachusetts area who said he wanted to make it a race car. Sales price was about $1300 to $1600. Body was in very good condition and the car was all original except for the floor carpeting. I sold the car because my independent Lotus mechanic’s estimates of repair costs were too much for a man about to get married and start a family.
I would be interested in learning if anyone out there has the car now. I really enjoyed driving it.

1969 S2 2 Europa.
I would like to locate my 1969 S2 Lotus Europa. First registered in CA with the tag 099BEK, The Serial Number is 65/2654, Engine No. 0449, and Transmission No. 874. It was originally painted a “special tangerine” color by Lotus. It’s not Lotus “Colorado Orange”, somewhat more red, but definitely orange. It has the Hermes HLR681 kit with high lift cam. I am optimistically using present tense in my description in hopes that it is still milling around happily as ever. Garry Parrish garryparrish@sbcglobal.net
Series 2 Europa, #54/1540.
I am hoping to locate a Europa I used to own. It was chassis #54/1540, engine #1552, and transmission #0194 and it is a red 1969 S2 Type 54. I sold it to someone in Florida in 1998 and I am really hoping to get it back. - Greg gboshart@mac.com.
My old Series 2 Europa, #0334R.
Seeking information about whose cars benefited from the parting out of the car........anything I suppose so that I would know to what extent the car was used to help others complete their Europa projects.

I'm looking for my old 1971 S2 that I owned from about 1972 - 1977 in Wisconsin.
- I don't know the VIN but I sold it a woman in Illinois. It was repainted a Porsche green that was similar to L22 Bitter Green. It had Cosmics, Hermes & 45DCOE as well as a custom rosewood dash I made. Contact Craig if you know where this car is.
My father owned a 1974 Lotus Europa Special TwinCam (74044519R).
- He gave it to me in 1994 and I sold it in 2004, I think, to a gentleman named Tim who lived in or near Sherman Oaks, CA. I would like to see if the car is still around and possibly for sale.
- Mona Wright
- Contact Jerry if you know where this car is.
I have for ages been trying to find my old Europa. 1971.
- Black as a JPS. all black inside, front grill was a cast metal unit. and the front spoiler was about twice the depth. I bought this car from the factory, it had been sitting a building there for years. a friend who work for Lotus told me about it it was under a cover and covered in years of dust and grime, sitting on 4 flat tyres. I went to the factory with a map of where it was, as on the phone they did not know anything about it. anyway I bought it, and got it home on a trailer. There were lots of things around the car that were different from normal, ie spoiler/very nice cast front grill and all the trim in black. All the JPS livery was painted on, not stick on, very nice job by a sign writer. I do not remember the chassis number. but the reg number was 1283 MC.

I am trying to locate what happened to my old Europa from the 1980s.
- Brief history is as follows:
- It was we believe a Federal Europa (it had flattened tops of front guards and taller cockpit to others we knew)
- I bought it from Leighton Cochran (Brisbane Qld Australia) in 1982? When it was red when I bought it
- I repainted it blue/white and fitted gold mags and 16ts motor with really unusual twin extractors, 2x weber carbies and no bumpers
- Sold to back to Leighton Cochran in mid 1980s and he drove it to Melbourne where he then was working as an engineer
- He sold it in Melbourne when he moved to USA in late 1980s
- It had no chassis plate we could find!
- Attached are 2 photos when I owned it
- I currently own 541163 (would love to find those old mags!)
- Please contact me at Mark Mathiesen.

Lotus Europa John Player Special #62
- I used to own this car. I bought it in Pensacola, FL after I wrecked my 7 Series IV. I sold it in San Diego in late 1978. Might anyone know where it is?
- Thanks much. - Ned Bagley
I bought a dark blue S2 (#OVG688J)from the Lotus factory in November 1970 and took delivery at the port in Detroit. It was factory modified with high-lifting cam, 45 DCOE Weber and bundle-of-snakes exhaust system. I sold it along with spare parts and a factory shop manual in 1972, in Cleveland, to a French grad student at CWRU, because I needed a car that could pull a trailer to move me to Boston.
I still drive "Lucy" in my dreams and wondered if anybody out there is lucky enough to still have her. Please let me know that she's still sassy and beautiful.
