I sent an email to Lotus requesting any information they could find about 0716R and received this email response on 12/17/03

"Dear Mr.Johnson,

Thank you for E Mail regarding your newly purchased 1970 Europa. At this period of Lotus there was little consideration of the amount of information should be recorded for each vehicle. What I can tell you is that the car was supplied to Lotus Central who I think might have been in London and the invoice date was 25.02.71. The original engine number was 1758 and the colour listed was just Bahama. This I assume this to be Bahama Yellow and the paint reference was L10.

I do hope this is of some interest and it is a shame we dont have the original owners details.
